Akhilesh slams govt over poor power infra in Uttar Pradesh

Akhilesh says govt did nothing to improve power infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has strongly criticized the current government in Uttar Pradesh for the ongoing power crisis in the state. He claimed that the BJP government has done nothing to improve the electricity system since taking office in 2017. According to him, the power plants built during the previous Samajwadi Party (SP) government are still the main source of electricity in many districts today.

Akhilesh Yadav said the government failed to maintain the power infrastructure properly, which caused many transformers to stop working. As the heat rises in the state, people face frequent power cuts and sudden electricity trips. The BJP had promised 24-hour electricity, but Akhilesh said the government is struggling to provide power even to big cities. The situation is worse in smaller towns and villages.

He also said that the BJP has not built any new power plants or produced new electricity units since it came to power. The power crisis is a big problem for residents who depend on electricity for daily life.

Promises unkept, people suffer

Akhilesh Yadav reminded people that the power plants built during the SP government, especially in districts like Etah and Kanpur Dehat, are still supplying most of the electricity. This shows that the current government has not invested in new power projects or infrastructure.

The rising electricity problems have made life difficult for people across Uttar Pradesh. Many families and businesses suffer due to unreliable power supply, especially during the hot summer months. The lack of proper maintenance and development in the power sector is causing distress among the public.

Yadav’s criticism highlights the urgent need for the government to focus on fixing the power system, building new power plants, and maintaining the existing infrastructure to provide stable and continuous electricity to all parts of the state.
