Sitaare Zameen Par crosses ₹80 crore, beats Vikram Vedha lifetime collection

Sitaare Zameen Par box office collection day 6: Aamir Khan film surpasses lifetime haul of Vikram Vedha, crosses ₹80 crore

Aamir Khan’s latest film Sitaare Zameen Par has earned more than ₹80 crore in just six days since its release. The film was released after Aamir took a break of three years from acting. Directed by RS Prasanna, this movie is a mix of sports and comedy-drama and has been performing well at the box office during its first week. As per Sacnilk's latest report, Sitaare Zameen Par has now made a total of ₹82.4 crore.

The movie had a good start with ₹10.7 crore on its opening day. It performed even better over the weekend, making ₹20.2 crore on Saturday and ₹27.25 crore on Sunday. However, during the weekdays, the earnings dropped slightly. On its sixth day, the film made ₹7.25 crore, showing a usual dip in collections after the weekend.

Despite the slight fall in numbers, Sitaare Zameen Par has now earned more than Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s 2022 film Vikram Vedha, which made ₹78.9 crore in its full run in Indian theatres. This is a major achievement for Aamir Khan and the team, especially after the mixed response his previous movie Laal Singh Chaddha received.

Special screening and story

Before its release to the public, Sitaare Zameen Par was shown at a special screening to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The team behind the movie, including Aamir Khan, expressed their gratitude for the hospitality and appreciation shown by the President and her staff. They even shared pictures from the event and said it was one of the most special and cherished memories for everyone involved in the film.

Aamir Khan was praised for his performance in the movie, which is being called a “spiritual sequel” to his 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par. In that earlier film, he played the role of a teacher who helps a young boy struggling with dyslexia. Similarly, in Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir plays the role of a basketball coach. The story follows him after he gets a DUI (driving under the influence) charge. As punishment, the court asks him to train a group of neurodivergent individuals in the sport of basketball.

This touching story has been appreciated by both audiences and critics for its message of inclusion and kindness. The film combines humour, emotion, and sports to tell a unique tale about growth, understanding, and acceptance.

Looking ahead

With the film already crossing ₹80 crore, fans and experts are now watching to see how much further it can go. It still has a few days left in its first week, and if the weekend brings in more viewers, Sitaare Zameen Par could cross the ₹100 crore mark soon.

The movie’s strong message, positive word of mouth, and Aamir Khan’s return have all contributed to its success. Though it is still behind his previous mega-hits like Dangal and PK, this film has given him a good comeback after the disappointing performance of Laal Singh Chaddha.

Overall, Sitaare Zameen Par has turned out to be a heartwarming and financially successful movie, appreciated by both everyday moviegoers and the highest office in the country. It reminds people of the power of storytelling and how films can bring important social issues into the spotlight with empathy and entertainment.
