Haryana to host AI summit in Chandigarh on January 31 with global participation

Haryana will host a major artificial intelligence (AI) summit in Chandigarh on January 31, bringing together policymakers, experts, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from India and abroad. The event is being organised by the Chandigarh chapter of The IndUs Entrepreneurs (TIE) in collaboration with the Haryana government. A state government spokesperson said that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will attend the summit as the chief guest.

The summit is themed “Glocal AI – Real Impact,” which aims to demonstrate how AI can create meaningful, practical outcomes that benefit both global and local communities. Officials say the event will provide a platform for dialogue on using AI responsibly to improve governance, business, and society.

Senior state officials, including Amit Agrawal, J. Ganesan, Prabhjot Singh, and Yash Garg, will also participate. They are expected to share insights into Haryana government policies and the adoption of AI in public services. By including government representatives, organisers aim to highlight how AI can support efficient administration and improve citizen services.

National and international participation

The summit will feature more than 60 speakers from four countries and 11 Indian states, giving the event both national and international recognition. Eminent dignitaries are expected to attend, including the British deputy high commissioner to Chandigarh and the director of Software Technology Parks of India.

Experts from leading global companies such as AWS, AT&T, Capgemini, Accenture, IBM, Adobe, KPMG, and the World Bank will also participate. They will share their experiences in enterprise AI, digital transformation, and global best practices. Sessions will also cover responsible AI, ethical use of technology, and real-world applications across different sectors.

By bringing together participants from government, industry, and international organisations, the summit aims to encourage collaboration and exchange of ideas. Organisers hope that this combination of policy insight, global expertise, and local innovation will provide actionable solutions that can improve efficiency and productivity.

Focus on skills, startups, and inclusive growth

The AI summit will include 11 panel discussions and three hands-on workshops to engage participants in practical learning. These sessions will allow attendees to explore AI solutions that can be applied in real situations, such as healthcare, governance, finance, and education.

AI-related startups from Haryana will showcase their innovations at the summit. This provides young entrepreneurs with an opportunity to present their products and solutions to investors, industry experts, and government officials. Organisers hope that this interaction will strengthen Haryana’s startup ecosystem and encourage innovation in emerging technologies.

The summit will also emphasise skill development, showing how AI can enhance human capabilities rather than replace jobs. By using AI to automate repetitive tasks, individuals can focus on higher-level problem-solving and creative work. The discussions will highlight ways AI can boost productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness in business and public administration.

Responsible AI will be a central theme, with speakers addressing issues such as fairness, transparency, and ethical use of technology. These topics are increasingly important as AI becomes more widely adopted in decision-making processes and social services.

Another focus of the summit will be inclusive economic growth. Experts will explore how AI can create new opportunities, support small businesses, and help reduce regional and social inequalities. By combining technology with policy and innovation, Haryana aims to use AI to promote sustainable and equitable development.

The event reflects the state government’s commitment to embracing advanced technologies for governance, economic development, and skill enhancement. By connecting policymakers, global experts, and innovators, the summit is expected to serve as a key platform for shaping future conversations on AI in India and internationally.

Organisers hope that participants will leave with a clear understanding of how AI can generate real-world impact, improve public services, and drive innovation in startups and businesses. The summit aims to demonstrate that AI is not only a technological tool but also a means to foster social, economic, and human development.

With a mix of national and international participation, hands-on workshops, panel discussions, and startup showcases, the AI summit in Chandigarh promises to be an important milestone in Haryana’s journey toward embracing technology responsibly and effectively.
