The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has responded to allegations made by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav regarding reports that crores of rupees from donations made at the Ram Temple were missing. The issue has sparked political debate, with Yadav raising concerns about the management of temple funds and calling for a proper investigation. In response, a member of the Ram Temple Trust denied any wrongdoing and said the trust has nothing to hide.
The matter has attracted attention because the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is one of the most important religious sites for millions of devotees in India and around the world. Donations offered by pilgrims are considered sacred contributions, and any questions about their management naturally become a matter of public interest.
Akhilesh Yadav raises concerns
On June 7, Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav expressed concern over reports claiming that a large amount of donation money from the Ram Temple was missing. He described the issue as highly sensitive because it involves the faith and trust of devotees of Lord Ram.
In a post on social media platform X, Yadav said that reports about missing donation funds had raised serious questions. He stated that if the allegations were true, it would be a matter of great concern for people who have deep faith in Lord Ram and the temple.
According to Yadav, devotees from India and many other countries have contributed money to the temple with devotion and trust. Therefore, any reports suggesting irregularities in donation funds should be examined carefully.
He said the matter was serious enough for the judiciary to take notice. Yadav urged the court to take suo motu cognisance of the issue, meaning that the court could independently examine the matter without waiting for a formal complaint.
The Samajwadi Party leader also questioned why there had been no detailed explanation from either the temple trust or the government regarding the reports. He suggested that the silence surrounding the issue was creating doubts among people.
Yadav said that transparency was important in matters involving public donations and religious institutions. He argued that devotees deserved clear information about how donation money was being handled and managed.
His comments quickly attracted attention from political leaders, religious groups and the public, leading to fresh discussions about accountability and financial transparency in large religious institutions.

Trust rejects allegations
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust strongly rejected any suggestion that its members were involved in wrongdoing. Mahant Dinendra Das, a member of the trust, responded to the allegations and expressed confidence in the integrity of the trust.
Speaking on the issue, Das said he had complete faith in Lord Ram and believed that anyone who committed a wrong act would ultimately face consequences. He stated that he did not believe any trustee would engage in such activities.
Das said that the trust has always worked with dedication and responsibility in managing temple affairs. He rejected the idea that trust members would misuse funds that have been donated by devotees.
At the same time, he said the trust was not opposed to an investigation if any doubts existed. According to him, if people wanted an inquiry into the matter, there should be no problem in conducting one.
He made it clear that the trust would respect any decision taken by the government or relevant authorities. Das stated that if an investigation was considered necessary, the trust would cooperate fully.
His comments were seen as an effort to reassure devotees and reduce concerns about the reports circulating in public discussions.
The response from the trust highlighted its confidence that proper examination of facts would clear any doubts regarding temple donations.
The controversy comes at a time when the Ram Temple remains a major symbol of faith for millions of Hindus. Since the consecration of the temple, large numbers of devotees have continued to visit Ayodhya and make donations.
Because of the temple's importance, any reports related to donations, finances or administration tend to attract widespread attention. Supporters of transparency argue that religious institutions handling large public contributions should maintain clear records and communication to maintain public trust.
On the other hand, members of the trust maintain that allegations should be supported by evidence before conclusions are drawn. They believe that speculation without verified facts can create unnecessary confusion among devotees.
At present, no official findings have been released regarding the reports mentioned by Akhilesh Yadav. The trust has denied wrongdoing, while opposition leaders continue to seek clarity on the matter.
As discussions continue, the focus remains on ensuring transparency, protecting public confidence and addressing any concerns related to the management of donation funds. Whether further inquiries are conducted or additional information is released, the issue is likely to remain part of the public and political conversation in the coming days.
