Trump claims both sides agreed to stop fighting

Trump says Israel and Hezbollah may stop attacks after talks

The Middle East may see a temporary pause in violence after United States President Donald Trump said Israel and Hezbollah have agreed to stop attacking each other. Trump made this claim after speaking with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and communicating with Hezbollah through representatives.

The situation in the region has been tense for many months. Israel and Hezbollah have exchanged attacks, leading to fear, destruction and concerns about a wider war. Trump now says diplomatic talks may help calm the situation and prevent more violence.

Trump claims talks helped stop military action

On Monday, Donald Trump said he had a “very productive” phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. After the call, Trump claimed that Israel would not send troops into Beirut, the capital city of Lebanon.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that any Israeli soldiers who may have already been moving toward Beirut had turned back.

According to Trump, the situation changed after his conversation with Netanyahu. He said Israeli troops would not move further into Beirut and that tensions could reduce if both sides respected the agreement.

Trump’s statement came during a difficult moment in the conflict. Just one day earlier, reports said Israeli ground troops had reached their deepest position inside Lebanon in more than 25 years. At the same time, Hezbollah fighters had launched rockets toward northern Israel, including areas close to the city of Haifa.

The violence raised fears that the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah could grow into a much larger conflict. Many people in the region are worried about civilian deaths, damage to cities and rising instability.

Trump said that after his discussions, both sides had agreed to stop attacks. He claimed Israel would stop military action and Hezbollah would also stop firing rockets.

He wrote that “Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel.”

However, there has been no official confirmation yet from Hezbollah or Israel about such an agreement.

Hezbollah and Iran remain at the center

Trump also said he communicated with Hezbollah through what he called “highly placed representatives.” Hezbollah is a powerful armed group based in Lebanon and supported by Iran.

According to Trump, these representatives told him Hezbollah had agreed to stop shooting.

Hezbollah has long been involved in tensions with Israel. The group says it fights to defend Lebanon and support Palestinians, while Israel considers Hezbollah a serious security threat.

The border between Israel and Lebanon has seen repeated exchanges of fire over the years. In recent weeks, the violence has become stronger, with missile attacks, military strikes and fears of a regional war increasing.

Trump’s comments suggest that diplomatic talks may still be possible even during fighting. But many experts believe peace in the region is difficult because several countries and armed groups are involved.

Shortly after speaking about Israel and Hezbollah, Trump also shared an update about Iran.

He said talks with Iran were continuing quickly despite recent tensions in the region.

Trump posted on Truth Social that discussions with the Iranian government were moving forward at a “rapid pace.” This statement came even as reports suggested Iran had temporarily paused peace talks with the United States.

According to reports from Iranian media, Tehran decided to stop negotiations for some time because it wanted stronger attention to its concerns and the concerns of allied groups in the region.

Iran has close links with Hezbollah and supports the group politically and militarily. Because of this connection, many people believe Iran plays an important role in the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.

Iran and the United States have had difficult relations for many years, especially over nuclear issues, sanctions and regional security. Talks between the two countries are often seen as important for stability in the Middle East.

At the same time, the situation on the ground remains serious.

Israeli forces recently carried out strikes on southern Beirut suburbs, which are considered Hezbollah strongholds. These attacks happened after Hezbollah fired rockets toward northern Israel.

The exchange of attacks has increased fears that a ceasefire may break down completely. Many countries are closely watching developments because a bigger conflict could affect the wider region.

People living in Lebanon and Israel continue to face uncertainty. Families near border areas often live under fear of sudden attacks, missile sirens and military operations.

While Trump’s announcement has brought attention to possible peace efforts, questions still remain. It is not yet clear whether both sides will officially stop attacks or if fighting may continue.

Many observers believe actions on the ground will matter more than statements online. If attacks stop in the coming days, it may suggest diplomacy helped reduce tensions. But if violence continues, the situation could become even more dangerous.

For now, Trump says both Israel and Hezbollah are ready to stop fighting and avoid further escalation. Whether this turns into a lasting peace or only a short pause remains to be seen.
