SpaceX launches TSAT-1A satellite for TASL and Satellogic

SpaceX successfully deployed the TSAT-1A satellite, a collaboration between Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Satellogic Inc., using its Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

TASL and Satellogic partnership

The TSAT-1A satellite, built at TASL's AIT plant in Karnataka, is the result of the partnership between TASL and Satellogic initiated in November 2023. This collaboration combines Satellogic's expertise in advanced Earth Observation satellites with TASL's proficiency in system integration.

TSAT-1A is designed to provide high-resolution optical satellite images with enhanced collection capacity, dynamic range, and low-latency delivery through its multispectral and hyperspectral capabilities.This technological advancement is expected to greatly benefit government and enterprise sectors by offering tailored satellite data for various applications.

Sukaran Singh, TASL's CEO and Managing Director, expressed pride in TASL's commitment to the space sector. He highlighted the successful collaboration with Satellogic, resulting in the launch of a best-in-class optical satellite by SpaceX.

Satellogic CEO'S perspective

Emiliano Kargieman, CEO of Satellogic, commended the efficient collaboration between the two teams. He emphasized the flexibility of Satellogic's Space Systems program, which allows governments and enterprises to customize a proven satellite model for their specific needs and reach orbit within a favorable timeframe.

This launch marks a significant milestone in space technology, showcasing their capabilities.
