Tragedy strikes: 19-year-old Shimla youth found stabbed to death in Nayagaon

A young man from Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, was discovered deceased near a private school in Vikas Nagar, Nayagaon, around 8 am on Friday. Identified as Ashish Kumar, the victim had sustained two stab wounds to the chest.

Police initiated a murder inquiry two days after the incident. They have apprehended two suspects and recovered a weapon believed to have been used in the crime. However, police have not divulged further details regarding the case.

Victim's background and circumstances

Ashish Kumar had recently relocated from Shimla to Mohali, where he was employed by a property dealer in Nayagaon. On the day of the incident, Ashish had left with his friend Kartik Bhargav in Kartik's car around 7 pm. He failed to return to work the following day, prompting concerns from his employer and family.

Ashish's mother, Hemlata, informed police that her son was romantically involved with a girl from Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh. However, authorities declined to comment on this aspect of the case.

Mother's account and Police response

Hemlata recounted her son's disappearance and subsequent discovery of his body to the police. She rushed to the Nayagaon police station upon learning of a youth's body found in Vikas Nagar and identified it as her son.

Subsequently, a case was registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code at the Nayagaon police station on Sunday. The investigation into Ashish Kumar's tragic death continues as authorities work to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and bring those responsible to justice.
