Shah links NDA’s Bihar triumph to focus on safety and governance

Amit Shah says NDA’s big Bihar win reflects voters’ trust in security and governance

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is heading towards a massive victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the people of Bihar have given a clear message through their vote. He said this mandate is not just a political win but also a strong endorsement of women’s safety, good governance, and the welfare of the poor. While congratulating the people, he said he salutes Bihar, a land known for knowledge, hard work, and democratic strength.

Amit Shah also promised that the NDA government will honour every commitment made during the election campaign. He said the trust that the people, especially women, have placed in the alliance will be met with even greater dedication under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Amit Shah promises committed governance under Modi’s leadership

While reacting to the early trends showing the NDA far ahead, Amit Shah said that the BJP-led alliance will work harder than ever before to meet the expectations of the people. “I assure the people of Bihar and especially our mothers and sisters that the mandate you have given us will be fulfilled with full dedication,” he said. According to Shah, voters have clearly supported the development-focused policies of the NDA, which prioritise safety, stability, and welfare.

Amit Shah used this moment to attack the Opposition, particularly the Congress party. He said that the people of Bihar have rejected those who, according to him, support infiltrators. He claimed that every vote cast for the NDA shows trust in the Modi government’s strong policy against illegal immigration and those who threaten India’s resources and security.

He further said that the people have sent a strong message that updating and purifying the voter list is necessary for transparent democracy, and that there is no space for politics against this process. Shah also claimed that this is why the Congress, under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, has fallen to the last position in Bihar.

Shah emphasised that this election result represents the mood of the entire country. He said that the public has understood who stands for national security and who supports vote-bank politics. According to him, Bihar voters have chosen honesty, safety, and development over divisive politics.

NDA heading for a big sweep as BJP emerges strongest

The NDA was on track to sweep the Bihar Assembly polls, leading in nearly 200 out of 243 seats. Among these, the BJP performed exceptionally well, emerging as the single-largest party with an impressive strike rate of around 95%. The BJP’s strong performance once again highlighted the popularity of Prime Minister Modi, who was the central face of the NDA campaign in Bihar.

The Opposition alliance, the Mahagathbandhan—made up of the RJD, Congress, and three Left parties—was struggling badly. While many pre-poll surveys had predicted that Tejashwi Yadav was the most preferred candidate for Chief Minister, the actual results told a very different story. The alliance was having difficulty even crossing 35 seats, indicating a major setback.

For the BJP, the huge lead in more than 95 of the 101 seats it contested is yet another sign of its strong position in Indian politics. Even though the party faced some challenges during the previous year’s Lok Sabha elections and had to rely on alliance partners to form the central government, this performance in Bihar strengthens its national dominance.

The NDA’s victory in Bihar also follows the BJP’s successful performances in Delhi, Maharashtra, and Haryana. Each of these results has further increased the party’s confidence and influence across the country.

Along with the BJP’s rise, the strong support shown by Prime Minister Modi and senior BJP ministers towards Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has helped the JD(U) significantly. In the previous 2020 election, JD(U) had secured only 43 seats. This time, however, the party was leading in more than 84 seats with nearly 19% vote share. This shows a major revival for Nitish Kumar’s party and indicates that voters have rewarded the BJP-JD(U) partnership.

Together, the NDA’s performance sends a clear message about the people’s preference for stability, development, and strong governance. The results show that despite predictions and surveys favouring the Opposition, voters in Bihar chose continuity and leadership they trust.

With such a strong mandate, Amit Shah and the NDA have promised to govern with greater responsibility and commitment. Their agenda, as they describe it, focuses on safety for women, efficient governance, welfare measures, and strict policies against infiltrators.

As the final results approach, one thing has become clear—the Bihar election has reaffirmed the BJP-led NDA’s political strength, the popularity of Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, and the faith that the voters of Bihar have placed in the ruling alliance.
