Officials Should Accelerate the Pace of Development Work in Rural Areas: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta
Maximum development works should be executed under MGNREGA
People should be made aware about regularizing illegal houses up to 500 sq. yards
Rohtak, sukrampal 26 November : Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta directed officials to accelerate the pace of development works in rural areas. He said that maximum works should be undertaken under MGNREGA. He also instructed to take action for regularizing illegal houses up to 500 square yards which are more than 20 years old in rural areas.Sachin Gupta was reviewing the ongoing works of Development and Panchayat Department, Panchayati Raj and Zila Parishad in the conference hall at the Mini Secretariat. On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad Narendra Kumar, District Development and Panchayat Officer Rajpal Chahal, Executive Engineer of Panchayati Raj Department Naveen Kumar, and Block Development and Panchayat Officer of Sampla Shikha Sahrawat shared details regarding the development works. Additional Deputy Commissioner and CEO of Zila Parishad Narendra Kumar also provided detailed information regarding approved works and budget. He presented the progress report of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana as well.Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that as per the decision of the State Government, people should be made aware about regularizing houses up to 500 square yards built on Panchayat land in rural areas for more than 20 years, and proposals should be collected from village panchayats. Such houses that are not built on ponds, firni paths or common passage routes are being regularized by depositing the government-prescribed fee. District Development and Panchayat Officer Rajpal Chahal informed that so far 8 cases have been sent to the headquarters for regularization, out of which 5 houses have been regularized and the process of regularizing the remaining 3 is underway.
Sachin Gupta directed that the maximum number of works should be executed under MGNREGA in rural areas of the district. He also instructed officials to make arrangements for door-to-door garbage collection under Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) and ensure its proper execution. He also directed to promote women’s Self-Help Groups. During the last financial year 2024-25, the district was given a target to make 6000 women ‘Lakhpati Didi’, and 6996 women were empowered and made ‘Lakhpati Didi’. This year the district has been given a target to make 2500 women 'Lakhpati Didi', and the work is ongoing. Box:Work on a 10-Point Agenda to Develop All Villages into Model Villages**
Sachin Gupta said that to develop villages as model villages, work should be executed based on a 10-point agenda. These include pothole-free roads, proper drainage, regular cleanliness under Swachh and Green Streets, plantation, development of parks and establishment of gyms/yoga centers. Similarly, under water security and management, piped water supply through tubewells and RCC pipelines, rejuvenation of ponds (desilting and dewatering), and grey water management are included. Under solid and liquid waste management, door-to-door waste collection and segregation, operation of biogas/gobardhan plants and liquid waste projects are to be carried out.Sachin Gupta said that under smart street lighting and CCTV coverage, 100% functional LED street lights on all roads and CCTV cameras at major intersections for public safety should be ensured. Under Digital and Educational Hub, e-libraries, women's cultural centers, indoor gyms, and repair and maintenance of government schools and Anganwadis are planned.Under reconstruction of community assets, renovation of chaupals, cremation grounds, memorials, bus shelters, as well as maintenance and operation of village secretariats should be done. In health and sanitation infrastructure, repair and strengthening of PHCs/sub-health centers and ensuring availability of clean and functional public/community toilets is necessary.Sachin Gupta said that under sports and youth participation, maintenance of rural sports stadiums and open gyms should be ensured, along with promotion of youth clubs and cultural/sports events. Under green energy and sustainable development, solar street lighting and renewable energy projects should be promoted, and eco-friendly initiatives like biogas and waste-to-energy projects should be adopted.Under participatory governance and monitoring, social audit of village assets, execution of panchayat resolutions and development works through digital dashboard monitoring should be ensured.On this occasion, Assistant Education and Panchayat Officer of Rohtak Ashok Kumar, Assistant Education and Panchayat Officer of Kalanaur Sanjay Ahlawat, MGNREGA Project Officer Ashok Kumar, SDOs of Panchayati Raj Department Atul Kumar and Yadvendra, Planning Department APO Neeru, DPM Yogesh Parashar, Sampla SDO Anupama and other concerned officials were present.
