Lok Sabha Election 2024: what's operating and what's shut on May 7

On May 7, the third phase of Lok Sabha elections will take place across 93 constituencies in 11 states and union territories. Due to this, schools, colleges, banks, and liquor shops will remain closed in many districts where voting is scheduled.

Closed institutions and services:

In the areas holding elections, schools, colleges, and banks will be shut on May 7. Additionally, liquor shops will not operate on the voting day.
The constituencies voting in this phase span across several states including Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. The regional offices of the Reserve Bank of India in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Panaji, and Raipur will also remain closed.

Continued services:

However, online banking facilities will still be available, and ATMs are expected to function normally. 
While voting occurs, the stock exchange will remain open. Mumbai, where the stock exchange is located, will vote in the fifth phase on May 20. Therefore, the third phase of voting won't affect stock market operations.
