Uttarakhand CM Dhami urges people to save energy and support local products

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has appealed to people to save energy, reduce wasteful spending and support local products to help strengthen the country’s economy. He said citizens should take small but meaningful steps in their daily lives to support the vision of a self-reliant India.

The chief minister made the appeal while speaking about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent message encouraging people to adopt responsible habits and reduce unnecessary consumption. According to an official statement, Dhami said these efforts are important not only for saving money and resources but also for making India stronger and more independent.

Dhami said every citizen has an important role in nation-building. He added that if people make simple changes in their lifestyle, the country can reduce imports, save resources and improve the economy. He stressed that public participation is necessary for the success of the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Vocal for Local” campaigns.

The chief minister said people should think about the national interest while making everyday decisions. He explained that conserving electricity, fuel and other resources is not only helpful for individual families but also beneficial for the entire country.

Dhami appeals for simple lifestyle changes

According to the statement, Dhami suggested several steps that people can voluntarily follow to support the country’s economy and save resources.

He appealed to citizens to avoid unnecessary foreign travel whenever possible and instead support tourism and businesses within India. He also encouraged people to buy local and indigenous products so that Indian industries and small businesses can grow.

The chief minister asked people to use public transport more often to reduce the use of petrol and diesel. He said this would help lower fuel consumption and reduce dependence on imports. He also advised people to save electricity and avoid wasting energy in homes, offices and public places.

Dhami further appealed to citizens to avoid purchasing gold jewellery for one year. According to him, reducing unnecessary spending on imported goods can help strengthen the national economy.

He also encouraged farmers and citizens to promote the use of natural manure instead of chemical fertilisers. He said natural farming methods can improve soil health and reduce dependence on costly chemicals.

The chief minister also advised people to use edible oil carefully and avoid waste. He explained that small savings made by millions of citizens can create a major positive impact on the economy.

Dhami said even small promises and personal efforts can become powerful if people work together. He added that collective public participation can reduce unnecessary expenditure and help India become economically stronger.

He said Prime Minister Modi’s appeal is not only about financial savings but also about building a confident and self-reliant nation. According to Dhami, people should see these efforts as part of a larger national mission.

The chief minister also said Uttarakhand has always played an important role in serving the country. Referring to the state as “Devbhoomi”, he said its people have always stood with the nation during important times.
