Congress hails army action at Mauli Jagran rally in Chandigarh

Congress praises army action during Mauli Jagran rally in Chandigarh

The Chandigarh unit of the Congress party organised a “Jai Hind Yatra” (Victory to India March) on Sunday at Vikas Nagar in Mauli Jagran. This rally was held to praise the Indian Army for its brave and strong action against Pakistan during Operation Sindoor.

The yatra (march) was led by Manish Tewari, who is the Member of Parliament from Chandigarh. HS Lucky, the president of the Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee, was also present. Other important Congress leaders who joined the rally included Surjit Dhillon, president of the District Congress Committee, Manimajra, and Mukesh Rai, chairman of the party’s colony cell.

The initiative for this event was taken by Surjit Dhillon and Mukesh Rai. Both leaders said that the rally was meant to show the public’s support for the army and to honour their courage during recent tensions between India and Pakistan.

MP Manish Tiwari's address

While addressing the people gathered at the rally, MP Manish Tewari said, “Our army has once again shown that India’s safety, freedom and pride are in safe hands. Their quick and brave action against the attacks from across the border shows their strength and loyalty. We are grateful and proud of them. Today, we all stand together to honour their bravery and sacrifice.”

Chandigarh Congress chief HS Lucky also spoke at the event. He said, “This ‘Jai Hind Yatra’ is our way of saying thank you to the army. These soldiers are the real heroes of our country. Their bravery, even under danger, inspires all of us. We salute them with respect and promise to always stand by them.”

The rally ended with the national anthem. All participants took a pledge to protect the unity and integrity of the country.
