Commercial LPG gets cheaper, domestic prices stay same
Commercial LPG prices cut by Rs 58.50, no change in domestic cylinder rates
Starting July 1, 2025, LPG cylinder prices for commercial use have been reduced across India. Oil marketing companies announced a price cut of ₹58.50 for 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders. This is a welcome move for many commercial users like hotels, restaurants, and small businesses. The new price of the 19-kg cylinder in Delhi is ₹1,665, down from the earlier ₹1,723.50. This reduction comes as a part of the monthly price review done by oil companies.
The updated rates were shared by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and are applicable in several key cities. In Kolkata, the price has come down from ₹1,826 to ₹1,769, which is a cut of ₹57. In Mumbai, the price has been reduced from ₹1,674.50 to ₹1,616.50, marking a drop of ₹58. And in Chennai, it has come down from ₹1,881 to ₹1,823.50, a cut of ₹57.50. These reductions offer much-needed relief to the commercial sector.
This is the fourth straight month that commercial LPG prices have been slashed. In June, the price went down by ₹24. In May, it was cut by ₹14.50, and in April by ₹41. These continued reductions have been very helpful for commercial users.
LPG price cut brings relief to commercial users
However, there has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders, which are used in homes for cooking. Domestic LPG cylinder prices have remained the same. Most of the LPG used in India — nearly 90% — is for household cooking. The rest is used in the commercial, industrial, and auto sectors.
LPG prices in India differ from city to city because of local taxes and transport costs. Oil marketing companies revise the LPG prices at the start of each month. These changes are mainly based on global oil prices, currency exchange rates, and market conditions.

The current reduction in the commercial LPG cylinder price is especially helpful for the food and hospitality sectors. Restaurants, small eateries, dhabas, and hotels use 19-kg cylinders regularly. This price cut helps reduce their fuel expenses, which are a major part of their operating costs.
The reduction also gives these small businesses a little financial relief after facing high fuel costs for months. With prices falling steadily over the past few months, it shows a positive trend that could continue if global oil prices remain stable.
In conclusion, while households may not see a change in LPG prices this month, commercial users can breathe a sigh of relief. The ₹58.50 cut in commercial LPG prices is a much-needed support for the food and service industries as they continue their daily operations.
