Union Minister Appreciates Chandigarh’s Outstanding Performance at IndiaSkills National Competition 2025–26; UT Wins One Gold, One Silver and Three Medallions for Excellence

The Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, has lauded Chandigarh’s commendable performance at the IndiaSkills National Competition 2025–26, India’s premier platform for celebrating excellence in skills and showcasing the nation’s most talented youth across diverse vocational and technical domains.

In a communication addressed to the Hon’ble Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, the Union Minister appreciated the outstanding achievements of Chandigarh’s participants and acknowledged the coordinated efforts of the Chandigarh Administration, training partners, instructors and competitors in securing this success.

The IndiaSkills National Competition 2025–26 was conducted from 29 March to 2 April 2026 and witnessed participation from over 650 top-performing competitors across 63 skill categories from across the country. The competition showcased the highest standards of technical proficiency, innovation and discipline, while also serving as a platform for identifying talent for future international competitions, including the WorldSkills Competition 2026 to be held in Shanghai, China.

A total of 12 competitors represented Chandigarh in various skill categories. Demonstrating exceptional talent and skill, the Chandigarh contingent secured five medals, comprising one Gold Medal, one Silver Medal and three Medallions for Excellence, reflecting the growing strength of the Union Territory’s skill development ecosystem.

The award winners from Chandigarh are:

* Sahil Garg – Gold Medal in Web Technologies
* Aman Shukla – Silver Medal in Visual Merchandising
* Farman Khan – Medallion for Excellence in Cloud Computing
* Geetansh Kochhar – Medallion for Excellence in Hotel Reception
* Bhuvan Sharma – Medallion for Excellence in Bakery

Congratulating the winners, trainers, institutions and all stakeholders associated with this remarkable achievement, the Hon’ble Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, said that the success of Chandigarh’s participants reflects the talent, dedication and hard work of the youth, as well as the collective efforts of all agencies involved in skill development.

He further announced that the Chandigarh Administration will soon organize a felicitation ceremony to honour the five medal winners and recognize their outstanding accomplishments.

The Chandigarh Administration remains committed to strengthening skill development initiatives, promoting industry-relevant training and creating greater opportunities for youth to excel in emerging sectors, thereby contributing to the vision of a skilled, competitive and future-ready India.
