Chandigarh District Court Advocates Announce Sit-in Protest in Support of Agitating Youth

A large number of advocates of the Chandigarh District Courts have resolved to hold a peaceful sit-in protest in solidarity with the youth protesting in Delhi. The decision has been taken in response to the alleged assault on the agitating youth by the police.

The protesting youth have been demanding the resignation of the Education Minister and accountability of the concerned institutions. The advocates expressed serious concern over the reported use of force against peaceful protesters and emphasized that democratic dissent must be respected and protected.

The advocates have further resolved to continue their sit-in protest until the legitimate demands of the agitating youth are addressed.

The Chandigarh District Court Advocates have demanded:

* Immediate quashing of all FIRs registered against the protesting youth.
* Immediate release of all arrested protesters.
* Adequate compensation for all those who sustained injuries during the police action.
* Legal action against the police personal and the person who were in civil dress beating the youth.
* Immediate initiation of meaningful dialogue with the representatives of the agitating youth to resolve the issues peacefully.
The advocates reiterated their commitment to the rule of law, constitutional values, and the fundamental right of citizens to peacefully express their grievances. They urged the authorities to adopt a constructive approach and resolve the matter through dialogue rather than coercive measures.
