BJP criticizes Congress choice

BJP candidate criticizes Congress's choice for Raebareli

Dinesh Pratap Singh, the BJP candidate for Raebareli, questioned why the Congress didn't pick a local leader but instead chose what he referred to as "Priyanka Gandhi's clerk" to run in the elections from Amethi. Singh, who is challenging Rahul Gandhi in the elections, also predicted that Rahul Gandhi would lose by an even larger margin than his mother did in 2019.

Allegations of hatred and lack of representation

Singh accused the Gandhi family of having animosity towards Raebareli and Amethi, pointing out that they never fielded a candidate from there in the Lok Sabha elections since 1952. He also criticized the absence of native representation in the Rajya Sabha.

Singh highlighted the lack of support for the Congress in Raebareli, disputing the notion of it being a Congress stronghold. He claimed that Sonia Gandhi, although holding the MP certificate, didn't represent Congress principles and relied on the support of multiple parties.

Predictions and historical context

Singh expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and suggested that the people of Raebareli trust Modi over the Congress candidate. He predicted a significant defeat for Rahul Gandhi, citing historical voting trends and changing political dynamics.

He referenced past defeats of Indira Gandhi in Raebareli, emphasizing that the area has a history of resisting outside influence. Singh concluded by highlighting the declining support for the Congress in the region, indicating a challenging electoral landscape for Rahul Gandhi.
