Actor Anil Kapoor recently praised the Indian Armed Forces for their bravery during Operation Sindoor, which was carried out after a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. He also expressed strong support for national unity, even though some fans felt his post came a bit late. Anil also lost his mother earlier this month, and he had shared an emotional note remembering her.
Anil Kapoor's Instagram message
Anil Kapoor posted his message on Instagram on Friday, May 16, 2025. He wrote a heartfelt note showing his pride in the Indian Army. In the message, Anil praised the army for their bravery and courage during Operation Sindoor, which was India’s strong response to a terrorist attack.
He wrote,
"What needed to be done—was done. Which family does not have differences within their members, but when it comes to the nation, we stand as one. Always have, always will. Grateful to our armed forces for standing tall and striking back with valour. India doesn’t forget. India doesn’t forgive. Jai Hind… Jai Hind ki Sena!"
This post was clearly in support of India’s military efforts after the April 22 attack that had shaken the country.
Operation Sindoor was launched by the Indian Armed Forces on May 7, 2025, in response to a deadly terrorist attack that took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22. In that attack, 26 people were killed. The mission was focused on destroying terrorist camps and other infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The operation was widely discussed and supported by the Indian public and many celebrities. It showed India’s tough stand against terrorism and was praised for its swift and powerful execution. The operation led to rising tensions between India and Pakistan. However, a ceasefire was announced later, and peace is slowly returning.
Even though Anil Kapoor’s message was full of patriotic emotion, many fans pointed out that his post came quite late — several days after the operation ended and the ceasefire began.
Some fans expressed their views in the comment section of his Instagram post. One person commented, “You are too late sir.” Another said jokingly, “Bombay mei subah ho gayi” (It is morning in Bombay now). Others questioned the sudden rush of patriotism among celebrities. One user asked, “What happened to these celebrities now they all are posting? Don’t they know war ended already?”
A similar message read, “How come all the celebrities suddenly started posting on desh bhakti... bhai log ceasefire ho gaya hai… why now?”
Such reactions suggest that fans are observing celebrities’ social media activities closely and expecting more timely and sincere responses on national issues.
Amitabh Bachchan also spoke
Earlier, megastar Amitabh Bachchan also shared his thoughts on Operation Sindoor. He had posted a detailed note on his blog, calling the Indian Army’s action “brilliant” and referred to the enemy as “rakshas (monsters).” His strong language showed deep anger over the terrorist attack and strong support for India’s response.
Bachchan’s post was received positively, and many fans admired his words. Unlike Anil, Amitabh’s reaction came sooner after the operation, which may have contributed to its better reception.
Anil Kapoor has been going through a tough personal time as well. He recently lost his mother, Nirmal Kapoor, who passed away on May 2, 2025, due to age-related health issues. Her last rites were held on May 3, and many celebrities from the film industry came to pay their respects.
Nirmal Kapoor was the wife of late producer Surinder Kapoor and the mother of Anil, Boney, and Sanjay Kapoor. She played a central role in keeping the Kapoor family united.
In a touching tribute to his mother, Anil Kapoor had earlier written,
“She was the glue that kept our family close, from our children to our grandchildren, and even our extended family and friends. Her love reached far and wide, and it’s clear from the outpouring of messages and affection that she made a lasting impact on so many hearts.”
Many fans believe this could be one reason why Anil took some time to speak on Operation Sindoor. He may have needed space to deal with his personal grief first.
Despite the delay, Anil Kapoor’s message clearly supports India’s defence forces. He wrote that he was “grateful to our armed forces for standing tall and striking back with valour.” His strong words “India doesn’t forget. India doesn’t forgive.” echoed the mood of many Indians who were angered by the Pahalgam attack.
His message was not just about revenge, but about unity. He compared the country to a family. Like any family, there may be disagreements, but when the nation is in danger, everyone must stand together.
This kind of message promotes patriotism and national unity, which are very important, especially in times of crisis.

Tensions Between India and Pakistan
The backdrop of Anil’s post is the rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam was one of the deadliest in recent years, killing 26 people and injuring many more. Following the attack, the Indian government gave a green signal for a military response.
Operation Sindoor was launched as a result. It was a major military strike targeting terror camps inside Pakistan’s territory and in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation was successful in hitting multiple targets and received praise from security experts and the general public.
After the operation, both countries agreed to a ceasefire. Although tensions have not completely disappeared, things are slowly getting back to normal along the border.
This event has also shown how much public pressure there is on celebrities to speak up on national issues. Fans expect their favorite stars to react quickly and sincerely.
When celebrities speak up late or seem to copy each other, people notice and sometimes react with sarcasm or criticism. In Anil Kapoor’s case, fans pointed out that many actors were suddenly posting patriotic messages even after the ceasefire, which felt unusual.
Some also questioned the timing and motive behind such posts. This highlights the challenges public figures face today — anything they post is quickly judged by thousands of followers.
Anil Kapoor is not the only celebrity who posted late about the operation. Several other actors and public figures also shared their thoughts only after the operation ended. Whether it was due to personal reasons or hesitation about taking a public stand on a military issue, fans were quick to notice and react.
The situation shows that while celebrities can influence public opinion, they are also under constant watch, especially during emotional and national events.
Anil Kapoor is known for playing strong roles in patriotic films and series like 24 (India), and he often praises India and the armed forces. His late response may have surprised some fans, but his support for the country has been consistent over the years.
Even though his post came after the main events, the message was powerful. It reminded everyone that when the country is under threat, unity is more important than timing.
With tensions cooling down after the ceasefire, the focus is now shifting to rebuilding trust and security. The Indian government and the Armed Forces have sent a clear message through Operation Sindoor.
Meanwhile, public figures like Anil Kapoor are continuing to use their platforms to express support and encourage national unity. Despite criticism for the timing, his message still resonates with those who believe in standing together during hard times.
