The Namo Bharat regional rapid transit service has introduced a completely new opportunity for people across Delhi-NCR. For the first time, its trains and stations can be booked for personal events such as birthday celebrations, pre-wedding shoots, and small private gatherings. This new decision by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) aims to offer a unique and modern space for people who want memorable celebrations in a special setting.

A new experience for personal events

Namo Bharat is a high-speed regional rail service designed to connect major destinations across the Delhi-Meerut route. It is different from regular Railways and Metro services. While Indian Railways focuses on long-distance and national travel, and Metro trains handle city-level movement with many stops, Namo Bharat offers fast regional connectivity on dedicated tracks with fewer stations and higher speed. Because of its design, the train offers a cleaner, quieter, and more premium environment.

Under the new policy, anyone—including families, individuals, photographers, videographers, and event planners—can officially book either a static (non-moving) coach or a running train for their event. This means that people can celebrate inside a stationary coach at a depot or choose to conduct their shoot while the train is running on the route.

The NCRTC has also opened a mock-up coach at the Duhai Depot. This coach is specially created for photography, decoration, and video shoots. It looks like a real Namo Bharat coach from the inside but remains fully stationary, which makes it convenient for setups that require time and repeated takes.

Bookings for these spaces start at Rs 5,000 per hour, and this includes an additional 30 minutes each for preparation and packing up. Compared to typical private studio rentals or luxury event spaces in NCR, the pricing is competitive and attractive, especially considering the modern look of the coaches.

The interiors of Namo Bharat trains are based on international design standards, with wide doors, comfortable seating, soft lighting, and large glass windows. These features create a stylish backdrop for photography, making them ideal for pre-wedding shoots, birthday portraits, anniversary celebrations, and unique social media content. Limited decorations are allowed based on guidelines, but nothing is permitted that could damage the coach, block pathways, or affect safety systems.

Safety rules and designated timings

The NCRTC has clearly stated that personal celebrations and shoots must not disturb regular train operations or cause inconvenience to daily passengers. For this reason, private events will be allowed only between 6 am and 11 pm. The activities must take place under strict supervision of NCRTC staff and security personnel. This ensures that the events are conducted smoothly and safely.

Each event must follow all operational rules. Loud music, open flames, heavy decorations, and activities that block doors or emergency equipment are not allowed. Food may be restricted to certain areas depending on the nature of the booking. The aim is to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the trains while still allowing people to enjoy their celebrations.

The stations likely to receive the most bookings include popular locations such as Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad, Duhai, and Meerut South. These stations serve busy residential and commercial areas, making them easily accessible for people planning private events.

NCRTC officials believe that this initiative will attract families, influencers, young couples, and creative professionals looking for a modern and unusual location. Since the Namo Bharat system is still new, many people are excited to explore it, and using it as a backdrop for memories adds to the excitement.

In addition to celebrations, the NCRTC has created a new premises hiring policy for film shoots and professional productions. Under this policy, filmmakers, advertisers, documentary makers, and media houses can book Namo Bharat stations and trains for shoots at competitive rates. This is expected to increase media-related activity across the corridor and bring more visibility to the regional rapid transit network.

The organisation emphasized that the booking system is designed to be user-friendly. Interested people can apply through a formal request process and receive approval after reviewing safety requirements and available time slots. The fees may vary depending on the type of train, number of coaches, duration, and whether the booking involves a running train.

This initiative marks a special moment in India’s public transport system. Until now, most trains and metro systems did not allow private celebrations inside coaches, except under very special circumstances. By opening up Namo Bharat for personal events, the NCRTC is introducing a new trend that blends modern transport spaces with public creativity and social celebrations.
