The HP government has decided to impose further restrictions in view of rising Omicron cases

Himachal Pradesh new COVID guidelines

The government of Himachal Pradesh issued further limitations on Sunday (January 9) in response to the rapid spread of Omicron cases, which has resulted in a large increase of COVID-19 cases across India.

“All government departments/ PSUs/ local bodies/ autonomous bodies, including the HP Secretariat, shall remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays and will operate with 50% attendance on working days,” state Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh’s directive stated.

The state government had already enforced a night curfew until additional instructions were issued, as well as closing educational institutions until January 26.

Himachal Pradesh will begin implementing new COVID standards today:

• All government offices in Himachal Pradesh will operate on a five-day work week.

• From January 10 to 24, social and religious gatherings are prohibited.

• During this time, government employees’ attendance has been limited to 50% of their total strength from Monday to Friday.

Additionally, after considering the Covid situation, district magistrates may set shop or market hours.

Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh has reported 2,31,587 coronavirus infections, with 3,864 deaths, as of January 8.
