No resident of the colony will be left homeless, Congress is misleading people : Sanjay Tandon

Sanjay Tandon met DC Yadav regarding civic problems

Chandigarh, Senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon today held a detailed one-hour meeting with  Nishant Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh Administration to discuss a wide range of civic, regulatory and policy issues affecting residents across the city. The meeting focused on ensuring clarity, resolving long-pending matters and addressing public concerns in a structured and citizen-centric manner.

He said some individuals are taking credit but there are some are working non-selfishly without taking any credit.

A major point of discussion was the misinformation being spread by Congress regarding the city’s colonies particularly on the issue of property rights. Tandon reiterated that the BJP is committed to granting transfer rights to all colony residents aligned with the policy direction previously discussed with the Home Ministry. He expressed confidence that the Deputy Commissioner will soon issue the necessary clarifications.

The meeting also covered the situation of workers from Jammu & Kashmir who were allotted transit houses in Sector 29. Following a recent High Court judgment setting 31 March as the eviction date, Tandon emphasized the need for a humane and practical policy, given that many families have lived there for over four decades. A delegation representing these residents has been scheduled to meet the administration on Wednesday to present their case for inclusion in the new policy framework.

Other topics included the rising number of violation notices in Sectors 17 and 22, the rehabilitation concerns of the 110 families displaced from Adarsh Colony and issues related to Lal Dora areas where several houses and small settlements require regulatory intervention. Tandon noted that further consultations with the Union Home Secretary will help shape constructive solutions.

The discussion also addressed challenges faced by various city-based societies and the need for revisions in Chandigarh Housing Board and society norms to reflect current requirements.
