NEET PG 2025 results announced

NEET PG 2025 results out, more than 2.42 lakh students took exam

The results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 have been officially declared by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). This is one of the most important entrance exams for medical graduates who want to pursue postgraduate courses like MD, MS, and PG Diploma programs in India.

Candidates who appeared for the exam can now check their scores by visiting the official NBEMS websites — natboard.edu.in and nbe.edu.in. The scorecards will be available to download from August 29 onwards, and students can access them for up to six months after the result date.

The NEET PG 2025 exam was held on August 3, 2025, in a single shift. It recorded an extremely high number of participants this year, with over 2.42 lakh candidates appearing for the test. The examination was conducted across 1,052 centres in 301 cities, making it the largest single-day, single-shift, computer-based medical entrance exam in India’s history.

NBEMS has also issued an important note along with the results. It has made it clear that there will be no option for re-evaluation, re-checking, or re-totalling of answers. Candidates must accept the scores as final. Therefore, students are advised to download their scorecards carefully and verify all details.

How to check NEET PG 2025 result online

NBEMS has provided a step-by-step guide for students to check their results. Here is the process:

  1. Visit either natboard.edu.in or nbe.edu.in.

  2. Go to the “NEET PG 2025” section on the homepage.

  3. Click on the “Results” link available there.

  4. Enter the required login details such as user ID and password.

  5. Once logged in, the scorecard will be displayed on the screen.

  6. Download and save the scorecard for future reference.

Candidates should remember that the scorecard will remain available for download for six months only, so it is important to keep both a soft copy and a hard copy safely.

In case a candidate finds any discrepancy in the scorecard, such as spelling mistakes in their name or wrong details, they should immediately reach out to NBEMS through the official communication portal. Contact can also be made via their helpline number — 011-45593000.

What happens next for students

With the announcement of results, the focus will now shift towards the counseling and seat allotment process. This will determine admission to various postgraduate medical programs across India. Students who qualified will be eligible to take part in counseling for courses such as MD (Doctor of Medicine), MS (Master of Surgery), and PG Diploma courses in medical colleges.

NBEMS has not yet released the cutoff marks for different categories. These cutoffs are important because they decide the minimum score a candidate needs in order to be eligible for counseling. Cutoff marks generally vary each year, depending on factors like the difficulty level of the exam, number of candidates, and availability of seats.

In earlier years, the qualifying percentile for different categories has been set as follows:

  • 50th percentile for General and EWS category candidates.

  • 45th percentile for PwD (UR) candidates.

  • 40th percentile for SC, ST, and OBC candidates, including those under PwD in reserved categories.

It is expected that the official cutoff list for NEET PG 2025 will follow a similar pattern but may slightly change based on this year’s exam performance.

Once the cutoffs are announced, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will begin the counseling process. Students will have to register online, fill in their preferred colleges and courses, and then wait for seat allotment results. The process usually takes place in multiple rounds, giving candidates a chance to upgrade their seats if better options are available in later rounds.

The NEET PG exam continues to be one of the most competitive medical entrance exams in India. With more than 2.42 lakh candidates appearing in 2025, the competition is tougher than ever. Only those who score well above the cutoff will have a good chance of securing seats in top government medical colleges.

For further details and updates, students are advised to regularly check the official NBEMS websites and official notices. They should also keep all their exam documents, ID proofs, and certificates ready for the upcoming counseling rounds.
