The match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium turned out to be a high-scoring and exciting game. Even though CSK lost the match by 43 runs, they managed to create a unique world record that has never been seen before in T20 cricket.
RCB, the defending champions, batted first and put up a massive total of 250 runs for the loss of just three wickets in their 20 overs. It was a powerful batting performance, with several players hitting big shots all around the ground. In response, CSK tried hard to chase down the big target of 251 runs but were bowled out for 207 runs in 19.4 overs.
Despite the loss, CSK’s batting effort stood out because of a rare and historic achievement.
The most special moment of the match came from CSK’s batting line-up. In their innings, nine different CSK players hit at least one six. This is the first time in the history of T20 cricket that nine batters from one team have each hit a six in a single innings.
This record highlights how aggressive CSK’s batting approach was, even while chasing such a big total. Every batter who came to the crease tried to play attacking shots and contribute to the chase.
Interestingly, none of the CSK players hit more than two sixes. Players like Sarfaraz Khan and Jamie Overton hit two sixes each, while the rest managed at least one six. Only Ayush Mhatre and Matt Henry failed to hit a six in the innings.
In total, CSK hit 11 sixes in their innings. While this was impressive, it was still fewer than RCB’s total of 19 sixes in their innings. RCB’s strong batting display in the first innings played a big role in setting such a high target.
Another interesting fact from the match is that a total of 14 batters from both teams hit at least one six. This is only the second time in T20 cricket history that so many players have hit sixes in a single match. The previous instance happened in a Big Bash League game between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder.
Even though CSK could not win, their record shows their depth in batting and their fearless style of play.

While CSK made headlines for their record, RCB were clearly the better team on the day. Their batting performance was powerful and consistent, which helped them reach a huge total of 250 runs.
One of the standout players for RCB was Tim David. He played an explosive innings, scoring an unbeaten 70 runs off just 25 balls. His innings included three fours and eight sixes, and he attacked the CSK bowlers from the very beginning.
RCB captain Rajat Patidar also played an important role. He scored 48 runs off just 19 balls and remained not out. His innings included six sixes and showed strong leadership from the front.
The RCB batting line-up looked confident and aggressive throughout the innings. All five batters who came to the crease managed to hit at least one six, showing their dominance over the CSK bowling attack.
When it came to bowling, RCB did a good job of controlling the game despite CSK’s attacking approach. They managed to take wickets at regular intervals, which stopped CSK from building strong partnerships.
CSK, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, are still searching for their first win in the tournament. This was their third consecutive loss in the season, which is a worrying sign for the team. While their batting showed promise, their bowling and overall performance need improvement.
