Bollywood legend Dharmendra, fondly known as the “He-Man” of Hindi cinema, has been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. The 89-year-old actor, who has been undergoing medical treatment for the past few days, was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) on November 10 for closer observation. His family members, including wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol, have shared that the veteran star is stable and responding positively to the treatment.
Hema Malini, speaking to the media, said Dharmendra is doing much better and the doctors are happy with his progress. “He is responding to the treatment. We are thankful for everyone’s love and prayers,” she said. Esha Deol also took to social media to reassure fans that her father is recovering steadily.
Fans across the country have been expressing their concern and sending good wishes for Dharmendra’s speedy recovery. Many Bollywood celebrities have also extended their support and visited the hospital to check on the actor’s health.
On Monday, actress Ameesha Patel was seen outside Breach Candy Hospital. She looked worried and chose not to speak to the media waiting outside. According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan also visited Dharmendra at the hospital the previous night. Both actors share a close bond with the Deol family and are said to have spent some time with Dharmendra’s sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol.
Earlier this year, Dharmendra had undergone a minor eye surgery. During a media interaction, Sunny Deol had shared that it was a simple cataract operation and that his father was doing perfectly fine afterward. This time too, the family seems confident that the actor will return home soon after completing his medical treatment.
