Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar visited the famous Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra on Thursday, just days before the release of his upcoming film Welcome to the Jungle. Videos of the actor walking towards the temple and offering prayers quickly spread across social media, where fans shared and praised the spiritual visit.

Akshay’s visit came at a very important time, as his much-awaited comedy film is set to release in theatres on June 26. Many fans believe the actor went to seek blessings for the success of the movie.

The Vaishno Devi temple is one of the most important religious places in India. Every year, millions of people visit the shrine to pray and ask for blessings. Akshay Kumar joining these devotees made the visit special for many people present there.

Videos showed Akshay dressed simply as he walked under tight security. He was seen praying at the holy cave shrine with full devotion. His visit was peaceful and carefully managed by security teams.

Many pilgrims and tourists who were present during his visit were excited to see him. Some tried to take pictures and videos, while others simply watched as he walked by. Despite the crowd, officials made sure that regular devotees could continue their prayers without much disturbance.

Akshay has often spoken about his faith and spiritual side in the past. This is not the first time he has visited a temple before an important event. Fans say this shows his strong connection to religion and tradition.

Akshay clears fee rumours

At the same time, Akshay Kumar has also spoken about rumours regarding his fee for Welcome to the Jungle. In recent days, there were many reports claiming that he had reduced his acting fee and accepted around ₹1.7 to ₹1.8 crore for the film.

Some reports also said that instead of taking a big payment upfront, he agreed to a profit-sharing deal.

However, Akshay has denied these claims.

At the trailer launch of the film, he laughed while talking about these reports. He said that the amount being talked about was not true.

He clearly said that he did not even get that much money.

Akshay explained that for him, this film was not mainly about money. He said the most important reason for doing the film was its story and the people connected to it.

He shared that the story was written by the late Neeraj Vohra, a person he deeply respected.

Akshay said Neeraj Vohra played a very important role in shaping his comedy career. He also mentioned that he learned comedy from three people — Priyadarshan, Rajkumar Santoshi, and Neeraj Vohra.

According to him, these three directors helped him understand comic timing and storytelling.

He spoke emotionally about Neeraj Vohra’s contribution and said he felt honoured to be part of a story written by him.

Akshay also talked about his old friendship with producer Firoz Nadiadwala.

He said they have known each other for almost 36 years.

Remembering his early days in Mumbai, Akshay joked that he used to struggle back then and is still struggling today. His funny comment made everyone laugh.
