Punjab Police has officially announced the examination schedule for the Constable Recruitment 2026 process. Candidates who have applied for the recruitment can now prepare according to the exam dates released by the department. As per the official notice, the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the recruitment will start from July 1, 2026.
The recruitment drive is being conducted to fill a large number of vacancies in the Punjab Police force. A total of 3,298 constable posts will be filled through this recruitment process. Out of these, 2,522 vacancies are available in the District Cadre, while 776 vacancies are available in the Armed Cadre.
The announcement has brought relief and excitement to thousands of candidates who have been waiting for the examination schedule. Punjab Police has advised all applicants to regularly visit the official website for the latest information related to the examination, admit cards, and other important instructions.
Candidates should ensure that they stay updated with every notification issued by the recruitment authorities to avoid missing any important information.
According to the official notice, the recruitment examination will be conducted in two papers. Both papers are important, and candidates must understand the exam pattern carefully before appearing for the test.
Paper I will be the main examination and will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The duration of this paper will be two hours. It will contain 100 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 100 marks.
One of the biggest advantages for candidates is that there will be no negative marking in the examination. This means candidates will not lose marks for incorrect answers. As a result, applicants can attempt all questions without the fear of mark deductions.
Paper I will test candidates on different subjects. General Awareness will carry the highest weightage with 35 marks. This section will include questions related to current affairs, history, geography, politics, and general knowledge.
The Quantitative Aptitude and Numerical Skills section will carry 20 marks. Questions in this section will test candidates' mathematical abilities and problem-solving skills.
Mental Ability and Logical Reasoning will also carry 20 marks. Candidates will be required to answer questions related to logical thinking, analytical skills, and reasoning ability.
The English Language Skills section will consist of questions worth 10 marks. This section will test grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and basic language understanding.
Punjabi Language Skills will also carry 10 marks. Since Punjabi is the official language of the state, candidates are expected to have a basic understanding of the language.
The final section will be Digital Literacy and Awareness, carrying 5 marks. Questions in this section will assess candidates' knowledge of computers, technology, and digital systems.
Candidates are advised to prepare thoroughly for all sections as every mark can play an important role in the final selection process.

Apart from Paper I, candidates will also have to appear for Paper II. This paper will be a qualifying examination in the Punjabi language at the Matriculation level.
Paper II will consist of 50 questions carrying a total of 50 marks. The duration of the examination will be one hour. Unlike Paper I, this paper is qualifying in nature, meaning candidates only need to secure the minimum required marks to pass.
To qualify Paper II, candidates must score at least 50 percent marks. Those who fail to achieve the required score will not be considered for further stages of the recruitment process, regardless of their performance in Paper I.
Punjab Police is expected to release the admit cards shortly before the examination begins. Candidates should keep checking the official website regularly for updates regarding the release date.
Once available, candidates will be able to download their admit cards online by logging into the recruitment portal.
To download the admit card, candidates must first visit the official Punjab Police website. After reaching the homepage, they should open the recruitment or latest notifications section.
There, they will find the link for the Constable Admit Card 2026. After clicking on the link, candidates will need to enter their registration number, application number, or other login credentials.
After submitting the required details, the admit card will appear on the screen. Candidates should carefully check all information mentioned on the admit card, including their name, photograph, roll number, examination date, reporting time, and examination centre details.
It is important to download and print the admit card well before the examination date. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination centre without a valid admit card and a government-approved identity proof.
As the examination date approaches, candidates should focus on revision and practice. Solving mock tests, reviewing previous-year questions, and improving speed and accuracy can help improve performance.
With more than 3,200 vacancies available, this recruitment drive offers a significant opportunity for young aspirants who wish to join Punjab Police and serve the state. Candidates are advised to remain disciplined in their preparation and follow all official instructions carefully.
The examination beginning on July 1 marks the next important step in the recruitment process. Those who prepare well and perform strongly in both papers will move closer to securing a position in Punjab Police as a constable.
