The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that temperatures in Himachal Pradesh are likely to rise in the coming days. After several days of rain and cool weather, the hill state may now experience warmer conditions.

According to the weather department in Shimla, the maximum temperature in many parts of the state could rise sharply by 4 to 8 degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours. After that, temperatures may continue to rise slowly by another 2 to 4 degrees over the next three to four days.

This means people in the state, especially in lower and mid-hill areas, may start feeling more heat.

At the same time, minimum temperatures are also expected to go up. The IMD said night temperatures may increase by 2 to 5 degrees in many areas over the next four to five days.

This rise in both day and night temperatures is likely to change the weather pattern in the state.

Even though temperatures are rising, rain is not expected to stop completely. The weather office said light to moderate rain may continue in different parts of Himachal Pradesh until June 20.

Rainfall is likely in some areas on June 15, 16, 18, 19 and 20. On June 17, light rain may happen only in a few isolated places.

This means the weather will remain mixed, with both rising heat and occasional rainfall.

The IMD has also issued yellow alerts for thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds in several districts.

The alert has been issued for Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur for June 15 and 16.

Similar alerts may continue for some districts on June 17 and 18 as well.

A yellow alert means people should stay careful, especially in areas that are more likely to face bad weather conditions.

Tourists visiting hill stations are also being advised to stay updated with weather reports.

Temperature rise and rainfall pattern

Himachal Pradesh has seen good rainfall in June so far. According to official data, the state has received 37.6 mm of rainfall this month. This is slightly more than the normal average of 36.1 mm.

This shows that rainfall has been close to normal in most parts of the state.

However, some districts have seen very different rainfall patterns.

Kinnaur district has recorded the highest extra rainfall, with 140 percent more rain than normal.

On the other hand, Mandi district has received much less rain than expected, showing a rainfall shortage of 54 percent.

This difference shows how weather can change greatly from one area to another in Himachal Pradesh.

In the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain was reported in most parts of the state.

This rain helped keep temperatures lower than normal in many places.

But despite this, temperatures have now started rising quickly.

The IMD said Sunday saw a clear increase in daytime temperatures in many places.

Una was the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius.

Neri recorded 35.5 degrees, while Mandi recorded 34.2 degrees.

These places are mostly in lower areas and usually get hotter compared to high-altitude towns.

In Shimla, the maximum temperature was recorded at 25.6 degrees Celsius, making the weather pleasant.

Manali also remained cool at 25.2 degrees Celsius.

Kalpa, which is in the higher mountain region, recorded 21.8 degrees Celsius.

These temperatures show that hill stations are still cooler than the plains, but the heat is gradually increasing.

Warning for people and tourists

The weather department has advised people to stay careful during this changing weather.

Sudden temperature rise can cause discomfort, especially after cool rainy days.

People are advised to drink enough water, avoid staying out in the sun for too long and wear light clothes.

Farmers are also being asked to stay alert.

Changing temperatures and rainfall can affect crops, especially fruit and vegetable farming, which is very important in Himachal Pradesh.

Thunderstorms and strong winds may also damage crops in some areas.

Tourists visiting popular places like Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala and Kullu should plan their travel carefully.

While the weather may feel pleasant, sudden rain, storms or landslides can create problems on mountain roads.

Drivers should be extra careful, especially during night travel.

Experts say weather changes like these are common during the monsoon transition period.

Warm air, moisture and mountain winds together create unstable weather conditions.

This can lead to rain, thunder and sudden temperature shifts.

The coming week will be important for Himachal Pradesh as the weather changes quickly.

While the rise in temperature may bring warmer days, rain and storm activity will continue to affect many areas.

People are being advised to follow IMD updates and stay prepared.

For now, Himachal Pradesh is moving from cool rainy weather toward slightly hotter conditions, but with rain still playing an important role.

The changing weather shows how quickly mountain climates can shift, making regular updates important for both locals and visitors.
