Chandigarh, 1 June 2026: Under the Government of India’s “TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan: 100 Days Campaign”, a series of Ayushman Arogya Shivirs were successfully organized at Bapu Dham Colony, Sector-26, Chandigarh, from 5 May to 29 May 2026 at various religious institutions and community congregate settings.

During the campaign, a total of 1,108 digital chest X-rays and 117 CBNAAT tests were conducted to facilitate early detection and prompt diagnosis of tuberculosis cases. Confirmed patients were immediately linked to treatment services under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP).

The initiative aimed to reach vulnerable and high-risk populations while strengthening community participation under the theme “YES! We Can End TB: Led by Bharat, Powered by Jan Bhagidari.”

Extensive awareness sessions were organized to educate residents about TB symptoms, transmission, preventive measures, and the availability of free diagnostic and treatment services under the Government of India. Special emphasis was laid on reducing stigma associated with TB and encouraging timely health-seeking behaviour.

The area Councillor also actively participated in the campaign and appealed to residents to contribute collectively towards making the locality TB-free.

The campaign reflects Chandigarh Administration’s continued commitment to TB elimination through early screening, universal access to free healthcare services, and enhanced community engagement.
