Jammu, 4 March 2026: Ticket checking staff of the Jammu Division of Northern Railway have once again demonstrated their honesty and dedication. A passenger traveling from Patna to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra on train number 12355 (Archana Express) who had come to visit Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra, had left his bag at Jammu Railway Station. Chief Ticket Inspector Mr. Abdul Rashid recovered the bag left at the station during station checking and returned it to the passenger.

Details of the incident:

A passenger traveling on seat number 53 of S3 in train number 12355 Archana Express, who had come from Patna, Bihar to visit Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra, accidentally left his bag at Jammu Railway Station after alighting from Jammu Railway Station and boarding a train from Jammu to Katra. The on-duty Chief Ticket Inspector, while checking at the station, noticed an unknown bag containing some clothes, important documents, and 20,000 rupees. The ticket inspector found the passenger's phone number in the passenger's documents and called the passenger to inform him about the lost bag. Following further action, the ticket inspector, in the presence of the Government Railway Police, summoned the passenger to Jammu Railway Station and returned the bag.

Upon receiving his bag, the passenger expressed his gratitude to the railway and ticket checking staff.

Commenting on this commendable act, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Uchit Singhal, said,
"The Jammu Division is always committed to the safety of its passengers and the security of their luggage. Such promptness increases passenger confidence in the railway service. The Railways appreciates such efficient employees. This ensures that such honest employees are encouraged within the Railways."
