Nineteen-year-old Veer Soren, grandson of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, died suddenly while on a holiday in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district. Veer, who was the son of politician Babulal Soren, had travelled to Manali with his university friends from Panipat.
According to police, Veer and his friends visited popular tourist spots including Solang, Sethan and Hamta Pass on February 23. The group later returned to their homestay in the Simsa area of Manali.
That evening, Veer complained of severe head pain. His friends arranged medicine for him, after which he went to sleep. The next day, around 2 pm, his companions reportedly heard noise from his room and found him lying collapsed on the floor, possibly after falling from the bed.
They immediately rushed him to Civil Hospital Manali. Witnesses said froth was seen coming from his mouth while he was being taken to the hospital, raising concern about his condition.

Doctors at the hospital performed CPR but declared him brought dead. Initial medical examination did not find any external injury marks. Police officials said the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the postmortem report.
Kullu Superintendent of Police Madan Lal Kaushal said that no foul play is suspected at this stage. Investigators believe high-altitude sickness or hypoxemia could be a possible reason, considering the high elevation of the areas he had visited.
The sudden death has deeply shocked the Soren family. After completing legal formalities, the authorities handed over the body to the family members who had reached Manali.
