The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the results for the January session of JEE Main 2026 will be declared by February 12. This update is important for lakhs of engineering aspirants across the country who appeared for the examination and are now waiting for their scores.
Once the results are declared, candidates will be able to check and download their scorecards from the official JEE Main website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The scorecard will include marks obtained, percentile score, and other details required for admissions and further counselling processes.
JEE Main is one of India’s most competitive entrance examinations, conducted for admission to engineering institutions such as NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutes. The exam also serves as a qualifying test for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission into IITs.
Students are advised to keep their login details ready to avoid last-minute confusion when the results are released. Due to heavy traffic on the website, the official portal may experience slow loading or temporary issues immediately after results are announced.
Candidates can download their scorecard by visiting the official website and clicking on the scorecard link once activated. They must log in using their application number and password. After logging in, the result will appear on the screen, and students should download the PDF and take a printout for future reference.
The scorecard is important for counselling, admissions, and document verification. Students are advised to store both digital and printed copies safely.
To check the JEE Main result 2026, candidates must first visit the official website of JEE Main. Once on the homepage, they should find and click on the link titled “JEE Main 2026 Scorecard” or a similar result link.
After clicking the link, students will be asked to enter their login credentials, including application number and password. Once the details are entered correctly, the scorecard will appear on the screen.

Before the result announcement, NTA will release the provisional answer key for JEE Main 2026 on February 4. The answer key allows students to compare their responses and estimate their expected score before the official result is declared.
Candidates who appeared in the examination can download the answer key from the official website by logging in with their credentials. After logging in, they can view and download the answer key in PDF format for reference.
The answer key challenge window will remain open between February 4 and February 5. During this period, candidates who believe that any answer provided in the provisional key is incorrect can raise objections.
To challenge an answer, candidates need to log in to the official portal and click on the objection submission link. They must select the question they want to challenge and upload supporting documents or explanations to justify their objection.

A fee must also be paid for each objection submitted. After completing the payment, candidates can submit their challenge. Once submitted, authorities will review all objections and release the final answer key after evaluation.
The final answer key will be used to prepare the JEE Main result, and no further objections will be accepted after that stage.
Experts advise candidates to carefully check the provisional key before submitting objections, as the objection fee is usually non-refundable unless the challenge is accepted.
Students are also advised to stay updated through official announcements and avoid rumours circulating on social media platforms regarding result dates or cut-off predictions.
With the result announcement approaching, candidates are eagerly waiting to know their performance and plan the next steps in their academic journey. For many students, the result will determine eligibility for JEE Advanced and admission into top engineering colleges.
