The name WASAKA, the new event company, was suggested in a light-hearted moment by Salman Khan to his favorite music duo, Sajid–Wajid. When Sajid mentioned that he wanted to start an event company and asked what he should name it, Salman jokingly said, “Call it Wajid–Sajid Khandaan — WASAKA.” Sajid instantly loved the name and finalized it for the company.*

In a significant moment for the music fraternity, celebrated composer Sajid of the iconic duo Sajid–Wajid has announced the launch of “Wasaka,” the maiden event company from the Sajid–Wajid khandan. With Wasaka, Sajid khan is stepping into a new era of musical innovation, one that not only preserves the timeless essence of the Sajid–Wajid sound but also expands its horizons. 

A key vision of the company is to build a strong artistic bridge between Bollywood and the Middle East, opening doors for unique cross-cultural collaborations, fresh voices, and groundbreaking musical fusions.  The initiative also stands as a heartfelt tribute to late Wajid Ali Khan, ensuring that his musical spirit continues to inspire, evolve, and thrive through new creative collaborations.

Marking the beginning of this exciting journey, Wasaka’s first release features the original Sabri Brothers, with a special appearance by Indian Idol sensation Salman Ali. The song brings together powerful vocals, Sufi–Qawwali energy, and contemporary emotion, an iconic blend that reflects the spirit of Wajid’s own musical philosophy.
