The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) will soon release the admit card for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025. According to the official update, the CAT 2025 admit card will be available from November 5 on the official website — iimcat.ac.in. Candidates who have successfully applied for the exam can download their hall tickets once the link becomes active.
The CAT 2025 examination will be held on November 30, 2025, for admission to various management programmes offered by IIMs and other top business schools across India. Every year, lakhs of aspirants appear for this national-level entrance test, which is considered one of the most competitive exams for MBA admissions.
Candidates must follow the proper steps to download their CAT 2025 admit card without facing any issues. The process is simple and can be done online using a desktop or smartphone. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
Visit the official website — iimcat.ac.in.
Click on the link for “CAT 2025 Admit Card” on the homepage.
Enter your User ID and Password (the credentials used during registration).
Once logged in, the IIM CAT hall ticket will appear on the screen.
Download the admit card PDF and take a printout for future use.
Candidates must check all details carefully before taking the printout. If any discrepancy is found, they should contact the CAT helpdesk immediately for correction. The admit card is a mandatory document for entry into the examination centre.
The CAT 2025 admit card will include essential information such as:
Candidate’s name and roll number
Date of birth
Exam date and shift timings
Exam centre name and address
Important exam-day instructions
Candidates are advised to carry a valid photo ID proof such as an Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID, or driving licence along with the printed admit card to the exam centre. Entry will not be permitted without these documents.
The CAT 2025 exam will be conducted on November 30, 2025, across approximately 170 test cities in India. The test will be held in three sessions — morning, afternoon, and evening — to accommodate all candidates. The exam will follow a computer-based format, and candidates must report to the centre well in advance as mentioned on their admit cards.
The exam pattern will consist of three main sections:
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)

The total duration of the exam will be 120 minutes (2 hours), with each section allotted 40 minutes. Candidates are not allowed to switch between sections during the test. This structure ensures that candidates manage their time effectively for each section.
There will be a total of 66 questions in the paper. These questions will include both Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Type-In-The-Answer (TITA) questions, where candidates must enter their answers manually. Each correct answer will earn three marks, while one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer in the MCQ section. However, no negative marking will apply to TITA questions.
Candidates are advised to prepare according to the updated pattern and practise mock tests regularly. Time management and accuracy are key to achieving a good score in the exam.

Arrive at the exam centre at least one hour before the reporting time.
Carry only the admit card, photo ID, and essential stationery items.
Avoid bringing electronic gadgets, bags, or calculators, as these are not allowed inside the examination hall.
Follow all COVID-19 safety and security protocols if applicable at the time of the exam.
The invigilators at the exam centre will verify the candidate’s identity before allowing entry. The admit card must be retained safely until the entire admission process is over, as it may be required during further rounds of selection like the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), or Personal Interview (PI).
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted annually by the Indian Institutes of Management on a rotational basis. It is the gateway for admission into prestigious management institutes like the IIMs, FMS Delhi, SPJIMR Mumbai, MDI Gurgaon, IITs’ MBA programmes, and several other leading B-schools across India.
