Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao has announced that 500 new doctors will soon be recruited to work in government hospitals across the state. She said that once the recruitment is complete, there will be no shortage of doctors in any district.

The minister made this announcement on Friday in Kurukshetra after making a surprise inspection of the LNJP government hospital. She explained that the proposal for recruitment has already been prepared, and the hiring process will begin very soon. This move aims to improve medical services in Haryana, especially at a time when many districts are struggling with health challenges after recent floods.

Minister inspects hospital facilities in Kurukshetra

During her surprise visit to the LNJP hospital in Kurukshetra, Rao checked several departments and services. She inspected the pharmacy, the toilets, and the cleanliness arrangements in every ward. According to officials, she paid special attention to the children’s ward, where she found several problems.

She scolded hospital officers for allowing heaps of debris to remain scattered around the hospital. She also pointed out the poor condition of the toilets, which were not clean or properly maintained. She reminded officers that such conditions cause extra trouble for patients and their families, who are already struggling with illness.

However, there were some positive findings as well. The minister noted that medicines were available in the hospital pharmacy in sufficient quantity, which meant that patients could access the drugs they needed without shortages.

Officials said that the minister’s surprise inspection was part of her wider effort to make hospitals more patient-friendly and accountable. By personally visiting and checking facilities, she wants to ensure that problems are identified quickly and solved on time.

Flood-affected districts under special watch

Rao also told reporters that several districts in Haryana have been badly affected by recent floods. Many families have been displaced, and floodwaters have caused health risks such as infections, waterborne diseases, and other illnesses.

She said that officers and staff of the health department are on the ground monitoring people’s health conditions. Free medicines are also being distributed in affected areas to help control the spread of diseases. Mobile health camps and special teams are being sent to villages to provide quick medical assistance.

The minister stressed that the recruitment of new doctors will also help strengthen healthcare in these disaster-affected areas. With more doctors in service, the state will be better prepared to handle emergencies and provide quality healthcare even in difficult conditions.

Improving health services in Haryana

The Haryana government has been working on improving health infrastructure and services in recent years, but the shortage of doctors has been a major challenge. Many hospitals and primary health centres have not been able to function at full capacity due to lack of staff. Patients often complain about long waiting times, lack of specialists, and poor facilities.

By hiring 500 doctors, the state hopes to fill this gap. These doctors will be posted across different districts, with special focus on rural and flood-hit areas. The government expects that the move will reduce the burden on existing doctors and improve overall healthcare delivery.

Apart from recruitment, the health department is also focusing on better cleanliness, more medicines, and stronger monitoring systems in hospitals. Rao’s surprise inspections are likely to continue in other districts as well, to ensure that hospitals follow rules and maintain proper standards.

A step toward stronger healthcare system

The announcement of 500 new doctors has been welcomed by many as a step toward building a stronger healthcare system in Haryana. With floods and seasonal diseases putting extra pressure on hospitals, the need for more doctors has been urgent.

The minister assured that the recruitment will happen quickly and that patients will soon see better services. She also said that the government is committed to making healthcare more accessible, especially for the poor and those living in remote villages.

By combining new recruitment, strict monitoring, and flood relief efforts, the Haryana health department is trying to provide relief to people during this difficult time.
