The Border Security Force (BSF) has released a short notice about its 2025 recruitment drive. This time, the force is looking to hire 3,588 constables (tradesman) for different roles. The notice says that candidates who are interested and eligible can apply online through the official recruitment portal – https://reott.bsf.gov.in.
According to the BSF, the last date to submit the online application form will be 30 days from the date of publication of the notice in the Employment News. The detailed advertisement with full instructions will be available in the Employment Newspaper edition dated Saturday, July 26, 2025.
Out of the total posts, 3,406 positions are for male candidates and 182 positions are for female candidates. This recruitment drive is an important opportunity for people who wish to serve in the BSF and secure a government job with a good salary and allowances.
The BSF has shared the basic eligibility rules that candidates must meet before applying.
Educational qualification
Cook, Water Carrier, Waiter: The candidate should have passed Class 10 (matriculation) and must have a food production or kitchen course certificate from a recognised institute.
Carpenter, Plumber, Painter, Electrician, Pump Operator, Upholster: Candidates should have passed Class 10 and also hold a one-year diploma in the relevant trade along with at least one year of experience.
Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Sweeper, Khoji/Syce: The candidate should have passed Class 10 and be skilled in the trade. In addition, they must qualify in a trade test that will be conducted as part of the selection process.
Age limit
Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age.
Reserved category candidates will get relaxation in age as per government rules.
This eligibility ensures that candidates applying are skilled, trained, and capable of handling the demands of their trade and duties in the BSF.
The recruitment process will have multiple stages to ensure that only the most suitable candidates are selected.
Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates will be checked for height, chest, weight, and other physical standards.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Those who clear the first stage will have to undergo running and other physical tasks to test stamina and fitness.
Trade Test: Candidates will be asked to perform tasks related to their trade to test practical skills.
Document Verification: All documents related to education, experience, age, and category will be checked.
Written Test: Candidates will have to appear in a written exam to test their knowledge and understanding.
Medical Exam: Finally, shortlisted candidates will go through a medical check-up to ensure they are medically fit to serve in the BSF.
Only those who pass each stage will move forward to the next step. The recruitment process aims to test candidates physically, mentally, and practically in their trade before selection.
Selected candidates will get a salary as per Pay Level 3, which ranges from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100 per month. In addition to the basic pay, they will also get several allowances such as:
House Rent Allowance (HRA)
Dearness Allowance (DA)
Transport Allowance (TA)
Other allowances as per BSF rules
