The Haryana government has announced that all schools in the state will remain closed on July 26, 2025 (Saturday) due to the upcoming Common Eligibility Test (CET). The CET will be held over two days — July 26 and 27 (Saturday and Sunday) — and is being organized under strict supervision to ensure fair and peaceful conduct.
To make sure everything runs smoothly, the state has also ordered photocopy and printing shops near the exam centres to remain closed on the exam day. These steps have been taken to avoid any chance of cheating or illegal activity during the test.
The CET is a major examination in Haryana for recruitment to various government jobs. Around 13.48 lakh candidates are expected to take part this year. For this, the government has set up 834 exam centres across the state.
Officials confirmed that no vehicles will be allowed to park within 200 metres of the exam centres. This step is being taken to prevent any traffic issues and to keep the area clear for students and police security teams.
To maintain law and order, the Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapur has issued special instructions to senior police officials across the state. As per the guidelines, prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 will be imposed within a 500-metre radius of all exam centres. This law allows authorities to act quickly in situations of public nuisance or risk to safety.
This means people won’t be allowed to gather near exam centres without reason, and any suspicious activity will be taken seriously. Police will also be posted in and around the centres for tight security.
DGP Kapur has appealed to all citizens, students, and their guardians to cooperate with the authorities. He said that if anyone notices anything unusual, they should immediately contact the police by dialling the 112 emergency number.

The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, had earlier reviewed all arrangements for the CET. He also requested the public to avoid unnecessary travel during the exam days. He added that fewer vehicles on the roads will help in keeping traffic smooth and help students reach their centres on time.
The government is doing everything it can to create a calm and safe environment for the CET exam. All departments — including education, police, and transport — are working together to ensure candidates face no problems.
This large-scale exam is an important step for thousands of young people aiming to get government jobs in Haryana. With tight security, clear rules, and full public cooperation, the government hopes to conduct the exam in a free, fair, and peaceful manner.
