The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has given students more time to complete their admissions for classes 8 to 12 for the academic session 2025–26. Originally, the admission process was scheduled to close on July 15, 2025, but the board has now extended the deadline to August 1, 2025.
The board has also released a revised schedule for registration and continuation. As per the new timeline, students can register without paying a late fee until August 6, 2025. After this, a late fee will be applicable on registrations made between August 7 and September 9, 2025. The complete schedule, along with detailed guidelines, has been shared on the schools’ login portals and the official PSEB website at www.pseb.ac.in.
PSEB chairman Amarpal Singh has urged school authorities across Punjab to ensure that all registrations and continuations are completed within the extended period. He stressed that the revised schedule is the final opportunity for schools and students to complete the process.
“No further extensions will be provided beyond this deadline. If a student fails to register or complete the final submission within the given time, the responsibility will lie entirely with the head of the concerned school. The board will not offer any additional chances for online entry or registration after the cut-off date,” Singh said.
Singh also highlighted that schools should ensure proper communication with parents and students about the revised schedule to avoid any last-minute confusion.
The updated registration process provides flexibility for students who missed the initial deadline. Under the new plan:
Registration without a late fee is allowed until August 6, 2025.
Late fee registration will be applicable from August 7 to September 9, 2025.
This step is expected to benefit students who faced delays due to documentation issues, lack of awareness, or other unavoidable reasons.
School heads have been directed to verify all student data carefully during the registration process. The board has made it clear that incorrect or incomplete data could cause complications for students during board examinations or issuance of certificates.

Chairman Amarpal Singh also used the occasion to underline the Punjab government’s broader focus on improving education in the state. He mentioned the launch of special category schools, such as:
Schools of Eminence – aimed at providing world-class infrastructure and modern teaching methods.
Schools of Brilliance – focusing on academic excellence and innovative learning techniques.
Schools of Happiness – designed to provide a stress-free and creative environment for students.
According to Singh, these initiatives are part of the government’s larger vision of an “educational revolution” that will not only enhance academic standards but also prepare students for global challenges.
The extended deadline is expected to bring relief to thousands of students and parents across Punjab. Many students, particularly those in rural areas, often face challenges in completing admission procedures due to limited internet access, delayed information, or financial constraints.
By extending the timeline, the board aims to ensure that no student is left out due to administrative or logistical reasons. Schools have been advised to keep their admission counters open for extended hours and provide necessary assistance to parents during this period.
With the final registration deadline approaching, both students and schools must take note of the following important points:
Check the official website – All updates, circulars, and detailed instructions are available on www.pseb.ac.in.
Avoid delays – Waiting until the last day could lead to technical issues or missed deadlines.
Ensure data accuracy – All personal details, academic records, and documents must be correct and properly uploaded.
Contact school authorities – Any issues during registration must be resolved with the school administration immediately.
The PSEB has made it clear that there will be no second chance for registration beyond September 9, 2025.
The extension of the admission deadline reflects PSEB’s commitment to providing flexibility and ensuring maximum student enrollment. Officials believe that by streamlining the registration process and offering more time, they can reduce the stress on both students and school authorities.
The Punjab government is also working on digitalizing key academic processes, including registration, examination forms, and results. This is expected to make the entire system more transparent and efficient.
With these changes, the board hopes to set higher benchmarks for academic governance in the coming years. The initiative also aligns with the state’s vision of offering quality education to every child, regardless of their background or location.
