Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal visited Jantar Mantar on Thursday to support education activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is on an indefinite hunger strike.
Wangchuk and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) are protesting and demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged NEET exam paper leaks.
Speaking at the protest site, Kejriwal praised Wangchuk and described him as a respected educationist. He said Wangchuk was willing to risk his life for the future of students.
Kejriwal suggested that Wangchuk should become the country’s education minister. He said the government should remove Dharmendra Pradhan and appoint Wangchuk instead.
The AAP leader also recalled the anti-corruption movement he led with Anna Hazare at Jantar Mantar in 2011. He urged the government to listen to Wangchuk’s demands and warned that ignoring public concerns could have political consequences.
Kejriwal claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was afraid that Wangchuk could bring major changes in the education system.

Addressing the gathering, Kejriwal said repeated paper leaks have damaged students’ confidence. He said students work hard for competitive exams and enter examination halls with hopes of building a better future.
According to him, exam paper leaks are harmful for the country because they weaken trust in the system. He also criticised the release of people accused in paper leak cases and referred to the 2024 exam leak controversy.
Kejriwal urged the government to listen to young people and take steps to stop paper leaks. He said changes in the system were necessary to prevent stress and despair among students.
He also appealed to people across the country to join the march to Parliament planned by the CJP on July 20.
AAP leader and former Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj also attended the protest. He supported the demand for the education minister’s resignation and encouraged people to participate in the upcoming march. He also took a swipe at the ruling BJP while speaking at the event.
