Chandigarh, July 7, 2026: As part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) awareness campaign, a Nukkad Natak (street play) was organised today at Sector 17 Plaza, Chandigarh, to educate and motivate citizens about the importance of the SIR process.
The street play effectively highlighted the significance of ensuring accurate and updated electoral rolls by encouraging eligible citizens to verify and update their electoral details within the stipulated timeline. Through an engaging and interactive performance, the artists conveyed key messages on voter participation, enrolment, correction of entries, and the responsibility of every citizen in strengthening the democratic process.
A large number of visitors at the Plaza witnessed the performance and appreciated the initiative. Informational pamphlets on the SIR process were also distributed to the public to enhance awareness and facilitate greater participation.
The awareness programme forms part of the series of activities being conducted across UT Chandigarh to ensure maximum public outreach and encourage active participation in the Special Intensive Revision process.
All electors are also requested to submit their Enumeration Form, if they have not already done so, as submission of the Enumeration Form is mandatory. Only those electors who submit the Enumeration Form will be included in the draft electoral roll. The last date for submission of the Enumeration Form is 14th July, 2026.
