Chandigarh, July 1: Shiromani Akali Dal suffered a major political setback in Patran when former MLA Vaninder Kaur Loomba and Karan Singh DTO, along with hundreds of their supporters, joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the presence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann formally welcomed all the newly inducted leaders and supporters into the party. He said that the joining of grassroots leaders would further strengthen the party in the region.
CM Mann said that such a large number of supporters from the opposition party joining AAP reflects the growing public endorsement of the AAP government's pro-people works and policies, which will further expand and strengthen the party's base in the coming times.
