Citizens urged to clear pending Property Tax dues before deadline and benefit from interest waiver scheme

Municipal Corporation to organize special camps and Mega Camps for settlement of outstanding property tax dues

Panchkula June 23: The Haryana Government has launched a historic scheme granting a 100 per cent waiver on the interest accrued on outstanding property tax dues for the period from 2010-11 to 2024-25. Under this initiative, property owners are required to pay only the principal amount of the outstanding tax, while the entire interest liability will be waived.

To avail of this special benefit, citizens must deposit their pending property tax dues and complete the self-verification of their Property ID on or before June 30, 2026.

Appealing to citizens to make the most of this opportunity, Commissioner , Municipal Corporation Panchkula Sh Vinay Kumar described the scheme as an excellent chance to settle long-pending property tax liabilities. He said that the Municipal Corporation is organizing special Property Tax Camps and Mega Camps to facilitate taxpayers and ensure maximum convenience.

The camps will provide on-the-spot assistance for resolving Property ID-related issues, completing verification formalities, and making property tax payments. The initiative aims to enable citizens to avail themselves of the interest waiver scheme in a hassle-free manner while ensuring timely settlement of outstanding dues.

Commissioner Sh Vinay Kumar informed that special Property Tax Camps will be organized on June 27 at the Community Center, Sector-20, Panchkula, and on June 28 at the Community Center, MDC Sector-5, Panchkula. In addition, special Mega Camps will be held on June 29 and 30 at the Municipal Corporation Office, Sector-4, Panchkula. A large number of officers and staff members will be deployed at these camps to ensure seamless service delivery and to prevent any inconvenience to citizens.

He further stated that the Municipal Corporation Panchkula is continuously conducting awareness campaigns and disseminating information about the scheme through various communication channels to facilitate taxpayers. The primary objective is to maximize citizen participation in the interest waiver scheme while ensuring that property tax records remain updated, accurate, and transparent.

Appealing to all property owners, the Commissioner urged them not to wait until the last date and instead clear their outstanding property tax dues well in time to avail themselves of the benefits under the scheme. He emphasized that the special interest waiver will cease to be available after June 30, 2026. Therefore, eligible citizens are advised to visit the designated camps with the required documents, complete the verification of their Property IDs, and deposit their outstanding tax dues at the earliest.
